When the Weather Outside Is Frightful…

Magneti Marelli Building Facilities Solutions

When Brindley Construction in Pulaski, Tenn., chose Lee Company to do the design/build work on the Magneti Marelli project, we didn’t count on one of the wettest winters in recent history. Downpours delayed the erection of the building – a 62,000 square foot addition to the manufacturing facility.

Fortunately, we were able to accelerate the schedule. We carefully coordinated aerial lifting for the roof-mounted HVAC equipment and utilized prefabrication for process piping, compressed air piping, and HVAC ductwork. The prefab work saved time by allowing us to install assemblies, rather than relying on more traditional – and time-consuming – piece-by-piece construction methods onsite.

Even with perfect weather, complex projects like this often come with complications. In this case, the expansion was directly adjacent to an active manufacturing zone within the plant. Lee Company coordinated connections to existing utilities without interrupting production or compromising quality.

With the project completed on time, we’re proud to echo the feedback from Brindley: “Hats off to the team!”
