Getting a head start to take a stand against hunger.

August 15, 2019

Vans4Cans – it’s back! Each year we hold a food drive to help our hungry neighbors, and this time it’s being held during Hunger Action month! September is a month in which people all over America stand together with Feeding America and the nationwide network of food banks to fight hunger. It’s a month to spread the word and take action on the hunger crisis to find a solution.

Pay the bills or put food on the table for your family. How would you decide what to do? Unfortunately, too many of our neighbors have to make this decision every day. They’re not worried about what’s for dinner. They have to worry about whether there is anything for dinner.

Hunger in our Community

According to the latest statistics, 1 in 8 Middle Tennesseans, including 1 in 5 children, struggle with hunger every day. And you might be surprised at how many of them are our neighbors. Hard-working people who too often have to choose between paying bills and buying food.

Fortunately, by joining together, we can make a difference.

2019 Vans4Cans

Lee Company is joining forces with local foods banks, including Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, Kentucky’s Heartland Food Bank, and the Food Bank of North Alabama for our 2019 Vans4Cans program. From now until September 30, we have several opportunities to join in our fight against hunger:

  • Donate to our Virtual Food Drive where 96 cents of every dollar goes directly to feeding programs.
  • Give canned food and other non-perishables to a Lee Company technician during your next service call.
  • Drop off food donations at a Lee Company office.

What items do the food banks need?

Here are the most needed items requested by the food banks:

  • Peanut butter
  • Macaroni and cheese
  • Canned fruit
  • Canned vegetables
  • Rice & beans
  • Canned chicken
  • Canned tuna
  • Cereal

At Lee Company, we are motivated to give back as a reflection of how much we have been given. We know what a difference
Vans4Cans makes in the communities we serve, and we thank you for joining us in our fight against hunger!

Fast 50: We’re excited to be called #29!

August 13, 2019

Each year, the Nashville Business Journal releases a coveted list called the Fast 50! We are honored to say that we have been named a Tennessean top workplace for the fourth time! When a company wins four times, you are placed in the Tennessean’s Hall of Fame! We’re pretty pumped to be placed alongside many of our peers, and are excited to celebrate with them.

This wouldn’t be possible without YOU: our customers and communities. We are always looking for ways to be of service to our customers’ needs, to be leaders in our industry, and to continue pushing the needle for excellence! This is our 75th year in business, and that is not by accident! We are in a position to succeed because of our incredible employees, innovative solutions, and committed customers. So, thank you!

Congratulations to all the companies ranked on the Fast 50 list including many Lee Company customers, partners, and peers. It’s an honor to be among this group, serving the Nashville community. When local businesses win, we all win.

Lee Company on target for annual JMI Sporting Clay Shoot

Justice & Mercy International (JMI) is a global non-profit organization that exists to “make justice personal for the poor, the orphaned, and the forgotten of the world.” For the past six years, Lee Company has supported JMI with our annual sporting clay shoot. This event raises money and awareness for the organization. It also focuses on educating people about volunteer opportunities with JMI where they can personally make a difference.

“Today was an amazing event. We love the way Lee Company invests not only in the business community but also in the non-profit community in Middle Tennessee. Their contribution to our ministry will go so far in helping our efforts to rescue children in Moldova and train leaders in the Amazon.
