Decades of Dedication – July 2019

July 22, 2019

At Lee Company, part of our mission is “to create a workplace where our employees can thrive.” We’re honored and strengthened by the many employees who make Lee Company their professional home – often for decades! We want you to know the dedicated pros making a difference for all the customers and communities we serve. Periodically, we’ll highlight team members as they reach milestone career marks. Thanks and congrats to these 2019 achievers!

40 Years

Robert C.

Manufacturing Supervisor

After 40 years with Lee Company, Robert Cox has one piece of advice for every new employee: “How far you go with Lee Company is up to you. Go with opportunity, and make it happen.” Robert is proof the advice works! After starting at Lee Company as a welder, he worked as a sheet metal helper and superintendent for Large Construction before taking on his current role as the manufacturing facility supervisor. “I’m grateful for what I’ve been given and what I’ve been entrusted with,” he says. “From the very beginning, I’ve told my supervisors, ‘You need someone to do it? I’m your man. If I can’t do it, I’ll figure it out!'”

“This is one of the best companies in the world; there’s nothing between you and opportunity.”

Tim B.

Assistant Superintendent, Large Construction

Tim Brown has seen his career – and Lee Company – grow over the years. When he hired on as a pipefitting helper, Tim was 24 and the company had 250 employees. Now, with decades of experience under his belt, Tim is a leader in Large Construction and Lee Company has more than 1,400 employees! Tim says he is grateful for all the opportunities Lee Company has provided, especially the chance to continually learn as he works on a wide variety of projects: “I want my legacy to be being good at my job, a hard worker, an honest person, and loyal, no matter what.”

“I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to grow at Lee Company. You can do anything as long as you’ve set your mind to it.”

Jimmy P.

Plumbing Mechanic, Large Construction

Jimmy Perry started learning the trades at 16, working with his grandfather. When he joined Lee Company back in 1989 as a plumbing mechanic, the office ran a bit differently. Each day, employees would report in and be sent out wherever needed. Fortunately, staying flexible and working hard is second nature to Jimmy! He went to work with our construction group as a plumber and was part of the crew that worked more than 90 hours per week for over a year and a half on Nissan Stadium. As he celebrates three decades with Lee Company, Jimmy says he’s grateful for the team, and the community we have here.

“Don’t quit, and stay with it, no matter what. Let someone else help – you have nothing to prove.”
