Bill Lee is presented volunteer honor by the YMCA

July 12, 2016

Bill Lee, chairman of our company, is a longtime volunteer with the YMCA of Middle Tennessee, having joined the YMCA’s board of directors in 2008. According to the Y, Bill has been “a true champion for positive youth development in our community.”

The life-changing power of Bill’s involvement was clear at the YMCA’s recent awards ceremony, when 16-year-old Adam Smith presented Bill, his mentor, with the organization’s highest volunteer honor: the Order of the Red Triangle.

“If I hadn’t met Bill, I probably wouldn’t be thinking about my future today,” Adam said. “I would be going to a low-performance school, I might not be in sports, and I probably would be in a lot of trouble. Bill brings out the light in people that others may not see. He brought out the light in me.”

Accepting the award, Bill told the crowd that he’s the one who has learned – from Adam.

“As volunteers, we really become the recipients not only of awards, but of life-changing experiences,” Bill said. “The difficulties and lack of choices and the dangers that lie for a young man like Adam have been completely made aware to me, and that has changed my desire to not only impact one kid’s life, but makes me want to impact a lot of kids’ lives.”

One by one, we can all make a difference. Watch the video of Adam and Bill here – the few minutes will truly brighten your day. Then, take the next step! Share the Lee Company tradition. Get involved.

Golf tournament raises $50,850 for Special Olympics!

June 15, 2016

THANK YOU! We want to express our gratitude to all the sponsors, partners, friends and employees that made our 2016 Special Olympics of Williamson County Golf Tournament a reality.

Mike Fisher

It is always amazing to see a community come together to support a beautiful organization, all while having a great time. Last year we were able to raise $45,000 which helped athletes participate in football, bowling, basketball, swimming, golfing and power-lifting activities at the local and state level. The funds raised also allowed the Special Olympics of Williamson County to outfit their winter game athletes with new fleece pullovers and goggles in addition to new swimsuits, towels and bags for the swimming program.

This year we were able to raise $50,850! We are beyond excited and cannot wait to hear updates from the Special Olympics of Williamson County and their athletes. We know these much needed funds will help advance their programs and have a positive impact on all the athletes.

Being an active member of our local community is one of our priorities and we highly encourage you to get involved with a local organization.

We would love to thank our title sponsors:

  2. RLH Agency
  3. Pinnacle Bank
  4. MRG

A beautiful story of the Volunteer State

May 20, 2016

For some people, the “Volunteer State” is just another name for Tennessee. For Mary Catherine Strobel, it was the perfect description of home. This amazing woman survived incredible hardships; helped family, friends and strangers; and established a tradition of giving to those in need.

Knowing her story, we consider it a huge honor that Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee nominated Lee Company for the 2016 Mary Catherine Strobel Volunteer Awards. Thank you! We were humbled to be one of three finalists in the corporate volunteerism category.

2016 Stroble Awards Lee Company

Congratulations to all the nominees, finalists and winners. The awards ceremony on April 21 was an amazing event. The inspirational stories we heard made it clear that everyone there was a winner. And it was wonderful to see how volunteers of all ages and backgrounds roll up their sleeves and devote their talents and time to serve others, even people they may never meet.

The Lee Company team considers this recognition a great honor for us, and a tribute to you. Our nomination salutes the heartfelt efforts of all our employees and customers. Thank you for supporting our Vans4Cans campaign year after year, and helping us feed the hungry.

We encourage you to take Mary Catherine Strobel’s heritage to heart. Find a volunteer program you love, and get involved in the community!

Lee Company Announces Key Leadership Change

November 20, 2015

Lee Company, a regional leader in facilities solutions and home services, today announced the retirement of Chief Financial Officer Roy Osborne and the welcoming of Rob Ivy as Lee Company’s new financial leader.

(Nashville, Tenn. – November 18, 2015) – Lee Company, a regional leader in facilities solutions and home services, today announced the retirement of Chief Financial Officer Roy Osborne and the welcoming of Rob Ivy as Lee Company’s new financial leader.

Osborne joined Lee Company as CFO 10 years ago and, according to Lee Company President Richard Perko, quickly demonstrated his value on the firm’s Executive Team.

“Roy came to Lee Company during a very difficult season,” Perko said. “From day one, he has been a beacon for our culture of integrity. Roy has led us from our toughest years through the best decade in our company’s history.”

“My 10 years here have really gone by quickly – and I mean that in a good way,” Osborne said.  “At Lee Company, I have been blessed to work with outstanding people, as I have been at every stage of my working career. In that regard, God has been very good to me. Now, I am looking forward to the next season of my life, and to seeing what Lee Company will achieve and become with Rob as its new CFO.”

Ivy comes to Lee Company after serving as CFO of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee since November  2010. A certified public accountant, Ivy holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in accounting from Mississippi State University.

“In finding our next CFO, we knew we had big shoes to fill,” said Perko, “especially in finding someone who fit our culture while also having the key skills and competencies we need for the future. We believe we have definitely found these attributes in Rob Ivy and we are very excited about all that he brings to this great team.”

“It’s so rare in today’s business environment to find an organization like Lee Company – a growing, forward thinking company that values its employees, holds true to its core values and operates with integrity,” said Ivy. “I’m excited about becoming a part of that culture and contributing to Lee Company’s future  success.”

Excellence in Construction – United Record Pressing

November 13, 2015

Lee Company has a winning record! Congratulations and thanks to our team on the United Record Pressing project, recently honored by the Greater Tennessee Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) with an Eagle Award in the Mechanical Industrial Under $2 million category.

The project began in September 2014, when Lee Company was chosen as the mechanical contractor to provide HVAC and a process utility system for the new United Record Pressing production facility. Working closely with the owner, we integrated systems and selected the most appropriate materials for a durable, reliable utility system. It was a comprehensive effort: Lee Company coordinated all layout, fabrication, installation, controls, insulation, start-up, and test and balance for all systems. Systems include all new piping for a 150 PSI steam boiler, compressed air, process cooling water, pumps, storage tanks and controls systems.

Maintaining an advantage

To help ensure that equipment, piping and utility connections were easy to access and maintain, Lee Company’s project management and site supervision worked closely with United Record Pressing’s maintenance and operations staff – one more way that the value of our work continues to benefit our customers.

Additionally, Lee Company was responsible for installing owner-furnished equipment. The close working relationship enabled the seamless execution of receiving, installing and connecting the equipment and led to a reliable, productive – and award-winning – utility system.

P.S. United Record Pressing was one of five Lee Company projects honored with a 2015 ABC award. That’s outstanding. We greatly appreciate this industry recognition of our dedicated professionals. Thank you to our team and our clients. We couldn’t do it without you!

Excellence in Construction Awards – Shiroki

November 13, 2015

You may not be familiar with Shiroki-GA, LLC in Dalton, Georgia, but you definitely know the clients this OEM supplier serves – Toyota, Nissan, GM, Lear, Johnson Controls and many others.

In 2014, Shiroki called on Lee Company to restore its dust collector and associated equipment after a fire. Our team responded spectacularly, and their exemplary work was recently recognized by the Greater Tennessee Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) with a Merit Award in the Mechanical Industrial Under $2 million category.

Overall, Shiroki-GA needed Lee Company to restore its dust collection system to proper operation, add capacity for future production lines, and apply engineering controls to prevent future fires and potential explosions.

Shiroki - Dalton GA

No time to lose

Lee Company had 30 days to engineer, design, produce a BIM (3D model), and fabricate and deliver all ductwork to the jobsite in Dalton. Everything – 100% –  of the project was pre-fabricated at Lee Company’s manufacturing facility.

The majority of the onsite work, including demolition and recycling of the fire-damaged ducting and dust collection equipment and installation of the new equipment, was completed during the 2014 plant shutdown – 12 days around Christmas and New Year’s.

A big shout out to the team for their dedicated work during the holidays! Lee Company customers know they can count on us 24/7/365.

P.S. Shiroki-GA, LLC was one of five Lee Company projects honored with a 2015 ABC award. That’s outstanding. We greatly appreciate this industry recognition of our dedicated professionals. Thank you to our team and our clients. We couldn’t do it without you!
