A Reason to Give Back: Purity Moosic City DairyPure Dash

Dairy Pure

“The Secret to living is giving,” one of Tony Robbins’ simple truths that reminds us we are here to make a difference. One of the ways Lee Company continues to give back to the Middle Tennessee community is by partnering with Purity Dairies on their annual Moosic City DairyPure Dash.

Since 2000, this Nashville-based race has garnered support from all over the Middle Tennessee community. It began as a 5K race and one-mile walk to honor Glenn Wunder, a friend of the race organizer, who passed away from pancreatic cancer. The event raises money for a different non-profit organization every year, and for the past 6 years, Lee Company has proudly sponsored the Glenn Wunder Mighty Mile.

At the check presentation on May 2nd, we learned that $150,000 were raised for The Jason Foundation, this year’s beneficiary. Since the race began 19 years ago, Purity Dairies has raised one million dollars! Other beneficiaries over the years have included: PENCIL, Gilda’s Club, Alive Hospice, High Hopes, and Special Olympics Tennessee.

“We love supporting our local communities, and this race is one of the ways we can continue to do that. On race day, when you look into the faces around you: the runners, the volunteers, the organization you’re helping to raise money for, you can’t help but be inspired. You realize that what we do does make a difference. I love being reminded of that at this event.” – Emily Bonomo, Marketing Coordinator

What inspires you? Is it making a difference in someone’s life? Is it raising money for a cause? Is it seeing someone accomplish a goal? Is it you accomplishing a goal of your own? If you answered yes to any of the above questions, you should consider getting involved in this event next year. Click here to learn more.
