You know the importance of inspecting and servicing your heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical systems yearly. It helps to make sure the major systems in your home are operating at peak efficiency and prevents unexpected breakdowns. While you might be able to do-it-yourself on many of your home maintenance tasks, there are those times that a professional can offer you the peace of mind that comes with a full inspection.
Luckily, here at Lee Company, we’re passionate about our Home Maintenance Plan and the value it provides. We are proud of the excellent work our technicians do for our members and aren’t shy about the fact that we believe our plans are the best around, both in quality and value. So we’re creating a blog series to share exactly what you can expect when you schedule annual inspections and tune-ups with us. First up: air conditioning inspections.
BENEFITS OF AN AC INSPECTION
Your air conditioning system has a lot of moving parts and can be put under a great deal of stress during Southern summer (and sometimes spring and fall) months. Getting your unit checked out and fixed up every year is the best way to keep it running in top shape. Regular maintenance improves your system’s efficiency, performance, and lifespan which gives you the greatest value for your dollar.
WHAT TO EXPECT
A quality air conditioning inspection and tune-up should include a thorough examination and testing of every part of your system. Your HVAC professional should also clean any parts that have dirt or contaminant build-up. Lee Company technicians complete a 20+ point inspection on every tune-up and detail all maintenance they perform. Our team always cleans, checks, or tests the following:
HVAC INSPECTION CHECKLIST:
- Electrical wiring-connection and insulation
- Amperage draw on each element
- Total amp draw of elements
- Temperature rise and drop
- Reversing valve
- Defrost controls
- Operation pressures

- Air filtration (and provide recommendations for improvement)
